Fascia and Soffit Replacement Done Properly
Your fascia boards carry the gutters and seal the edge of the roof. Your soffits close off the underside of the eaves and keep birds, pests and wind-driven rain out of the roof space. When either one fails, water gets into the rafter ends and brickwork, and a cheap fix turns into a bigger bill.
We survey the whole roof edge, not just the board you can see from the street. If the real problem is slipped slates or a failed felt line behind the fascia, we will tell you and point you to our roof repairs in Liverpool rather than covering it over with new plastic.
Fascia Boards and Soffit Boards Built to Last
A good roofline job is mostly about what happens before the new boards go up. Old timber is checked for rot, rafter ends are treated or repaired, and ventilation is built in so the roof space does not sweat. Then the uPVC goes on straight, level and securely fixed.
- Full Replacement, Not Capping: old timber boards are stripped out, not hidden behind plastic covers
- Ventilated Soffits: vented soffit boards or over-fascia vents keep the loft dry
- Eaves Protection: support trays fitted so rainwater runs into the gutter, not behind the fascia
- Colour Matched: white, black, anthracite grey, brown and woodgrain finishes to suit your windows
- Tidy Finish: joints, corners and end caps fitted neatly, with all old boards taken away
- Honest Advice: if a board only needs a repair, we repair it
Fascias, Soffits and Guttering We Supply and Fit
Every home is different. A Victorian terrace in Walton, a 1930s semi in Allerton and a newer house in Kirkby all have different roof edges, so we choose the roofline system to suit the property rather than fitting one product everywhere.
Replacement fascia boards, soffit boards and bargeboards in solid uPVC. They will not rot, split or need painting, and a wipe down once a year keeps them looking new.
- Fascia boards
- Vented and solid soffit boards
- Bargeboards on gable ends
- Eaves protection and ventilation
New fascias are the right time to renew tired guttering. We fit new gutters, downpipes and fittings so rainwater is carried clear of the walls and into the drains.
- Half-round, square and deep-flow gutters
- Downpipes and offsets
- Gutter realignment and resealing
- Colour matched to your new fascias

When Does Fascia Replacement Become Necessary?
Most people only notice their roofline when a gutter starts dripping. By then the timber behind it has often been wet for years. Look out for the warning signs below. If rot has spread into the rafters or the roof covering itself is failing, it may be time to think about roof replacement in Liverpool instead.
- Flaking Paint and Soft Timber: wood that gives when pressed is rotten
- Gutters Pulling Away: the fascia is too weak to hold the brackets
- Damp Patches Under the Eaves: water is getting behind the boards
- Birds or Wasps in the Roof: gaps from cracked or missing soffits
- Mould on Bedroom Ceilings: often a sign of poor roof ventilation
Repair First, Replace Only When Needed
If your fascias only need a small repair, we will tell you. If the timber is rotten and replacement is the better long-term option, we will show you photos and explain why.

Soffit Boards Blown Loose in High Winds?
High winds off the Mersey can rip loose soffit boards away and pull gutters off weak fascias. Left alone, the gap lets rain straight into the roof space. Call us and we will make the roof edge safe and watertight, then quote for a proper repair.

Your Fascia and Soffit Questions Answered
What Are Fascias and Soffits?
Fascias are the long boards fixed along the bottom edge of your roof, where the gutters are attached. Soffits are the boards underneath them that close off the gap between the fascia and your wall. Together they protect the rafter ends from the weather and keep birds and pests out of the roof space.
How Much Do Fascias and Soffits Cost in Liverpool?
The price depends on the length of roofline, the height of the property, access, the condition of the timber behind and the finish you choose. A small terrace costs far less than a large detached house. We give a free survey and a fixed written quote, so you know the full cost before any work starts.
How Much Does It Cost to Replace Gutters and Fascias Together?
Doing both together usually works out better value than two separate jobs, because the access equipment only goes up once and the new gutters fix straight onto sound new boards. Your quote prices the fascias, soffits and guttering separately, so you can see where the money goes.
How Do I Stop Birds Nesting in My Soffits?
Birds get in through cracked, loose or missing soffit boards and gaps at the eaves. Replacing damaged soffits and fitting eaves combs or bird guards closes those gaps. Active nests are protected by law in the UK, so this work is best planned outside the main nesting season, roughly March to August.
How Much Does It Cost to Clean Fascias and Soffits?
Cleaning uPVC fascias and soffits is a much smaller job than replacing them, and is often done alongside a gutter clear-out. The price mainly depends on the height of the property and how much roofline there is. Ask for it on your quote and we will price it separately.
How Many Soffit Vents Do I Need?
It depends on your roof. As a general guide, a pitched roof with insulation at ceiling level needs ventilation equal to a continuous 10mm gap along the eaves on both sides, and low-pitched roofs need more. We check this on survey and fit vented soffits or over-fascia vents so your loft stays dry.
